Second Show Even Better August, 19th 2005
The second catechesis was totally different. And can carmina was even better. Meanwhile the singers were used to sing on a stage in front of 1000 people and presented themselves self-confiding and easy. In spite of transmission to large screens and despite to a certain extend throaty voices due to the previous day’s efforts. The audience was excited and acknowledged can carmina with continuing applause. Even the soloists were better than the day before and at the end all agreed, that this was by far the best performance ever done.
After the show we had a lot of extremly positive feedback from the audience, at least more or less 1000 people.
CD’s were also sold in a respective quantity, and thus, can carmina finishes the active part of the World Youth Day 2005 with great pleasure and thankfulness. One thing is for sure: Now it’s party time, and all participants are looking forward to the forthcoming events, specially the Holy Mass with the Pope on Sunday….

First Show Extra-ordinary Success August, 18th 2005
5 hours full programme. An incredible atmosphere and can carmina in best condition. The first performance is done and the choir totally exhausted. That was physically a very special challenge, however was incredible joyful. The audience had a lot of fun and can carmina was able to push the atmosphere in the right way. Concerning the contents well preformed by the Theatercompany of Bethel, Bielefeld and an impressive speech of Jean Varnier. Of our own free will we are going to bed very early. And looking forward to a wonderful second performance.

READY TO START August, 15th 2005
15.8.2005. Monday morning, 10.30 Main Station Bielefeld. Start of the tour. How to express the atmosphere? Nervous, excited, fun, strained, high spirits... The list could be even longer. It will be an incomparable impression, all know. Hopefully the show will work well, all care about.
The first 20 people are leaving by train, others will follow by car. In the afternoon the accommodation has to be arranged, and than a first view in the Exhibition Hall and the stage.
On Tuesday we had the 3-hour dress-rehearsal, sound check. It remains suspenseful.

Everything Possible (Alles ist möglich) August 2005
Nothing happens – could be the impression. No rehearsals, all on holiday. Correct and also wrong: On one hand the dress-rehearsal was positive sign, that preparation was good and successful. On the other hand there were some small mistakes, that are corrected at present. Especially the soloists are practising, as well as some organisations that have to be done, at least a lot of small things which has to clarified in the following days…
And thus, we are joking at the moment with one song title of our show: Alles ist möglich (Everything Possible)... Hear it? Live-Recording Dress-Rehearsal 1,4MB 0,2MB

Dress-rehearsal Perfect Success July 2005

Time of preparation ended extremely successfull - ready to start

That was an extra-ordinary performance. Just before the summer holiday, can carmina presented the complete programme to the audience of the home parish in Bielefeld. In perfect mood and very concentrated the musicians presented all songs from the WYD-show within 2 hours. Supported by 5 sound engineers and professional sound equipment the audience was listening to a perfect event spending long ovations.
And that was a special challenge after 2 hours and high temperatures. Review: preparation perfectly done, can carmina is ready to go. But first a few weeks summer holidays…

Soloists with Stage-fright May 2005

On the stage in front of 1000 people

If even professional artist are nervous, why not also the soloists of can carmina? However, the music must be well prepared. And therefore a couple of musicians are learning the lyrics, practising in front of mirrors or cameras and also supported by professional singers working as singing teachers.

Getting Preparation Up To Speed March 2005

World Youth Day Casting Shadows Before

4 hours programme at the forthcoming World Youth Day must be well prepared. Thus, 26 musicians left for a 3-day training weekend to the lake of Schieder Schwalenberg close to Detmold, Germany. In the next following months, the practising will be continued, since the 2 catechesis, where can carmina will be actively involved, are surely one of the most challenging piece of music, that we ever performed. Specially the quantity of about 50 songs leads to a very special kind of preparation…
For those, who are not able to participate on the World Youth Day in Cologne in summer this year, can carmina offers a variety of different events in the region East-Westfalia.
